sir,
In the course of the conversation which took
place on Friday last regarding the status of the Registrar, and other matters which have been the subject of correspondence recently, Your Honour pointed out that I had only promised to "inform" you of any changes affecting the Registry Staff arising from the absence of officers on leave and similar causes, and
you expressed the wish to be consulted in these matters. I have
requested the Colonial Secretary in all such cases in future to submit a draft for my signature informing you of the proposed changes with a view to obtaining an expression of your views
upon them before they are given effect to.
2.
I have to thank Your Honour for the full
and explicit exposé of your views on the various subjects which were discussed, and I realise that it is difficult to
embody these matters in letters and easier to give full explana- -tion verbally, and I was most glad to learn from Your Honour that there no longer remained any further need for correspond-
-ence on these subjects.
3.
With regard to the episode of Mr. Seth, I have informed that officer that on any future occasion when he may feel himself in difficulties regarding any order received from yourself, it would be advisable in the first instance for him to place his views before Your Honour.
Honour
